Are stock wheels wide enough for this setup? (n/m) posted by Joe(NoVA) on February 15, 2005 at 11:43 PM |

tires that will give you adaquate traction. I don't know how much you drive your car, but there are three excellent drag radials that should provide sufficient traction on the street. I favor the Nitto 555 drag radials (I'm on my 8th or 9th set and average about 20k miles a set). A more aggressive tire would be the BFG drag radial (but only good for 3k-5k miles). The best traction/street tire is the new Mickey Thompson ET drags. These suckers stick, and we have guys out in Cal. getting 1.60 60' times, and then driving home with them. I talked to their tech dept. and the compound is actually more aggressive than the ET streets, but with a four ply sidewall. I wouldn't expect them to get more than a few thousand miles on them if driven on the street. I'm presuming (perhaps inacurrately) that you aren't looking for low profile, street tires, those wouldn't stand up to your set up because of the great spool up and ultimate power that you will have. Of course you could always turn the boost way down and use a moderate traction street type tire. Hope this is of some help and moderately coherent....Best of luck, Mark
